Infant care
Maggie's Playhouse provides Infant care from the age of Newborn to 18 months. All infants in my care will have opportunity for growth and development according to their individual age and milestones. Infants will have enrichment opportunities such as Tummy Time, Daily Stories, Music, and much more.
Toddlers
As your child continues to grow, between the toddler to preschool age, I will highly encourage their play experiences as I am in total agreement with the quote above, "Play is the highest form of research." - Albert Einstein. The Littles will be encouraged to explore their surroundings and to use their imagination to enhance their play time. The littles will continue to have Daily Story time, Sensory Play, and Music in addition to being provided play opportunity through undirected outdoor play time, undirected art, and undirected dramatic play.
Preschool Age
As your child reaches Preschool age, I will help build their independence by following routines on their own, such as hanging their jacket, taking their shoes on and off, helping to set the table for meals or art projects. Children of this age will be given opportunity to make individual choices on activities they would like to do, or which area they would like to play. In doing so, they will feel empowered and build confidence in their own abilities. Also, we will build on problem solving skills, guided by the child's natural curiosities and interests. By asking open-ended questions to encourage the child to form conclusions.
And of course with all children we hope to build their social emotional health by building trusting relationships, showing warmth and affection, giving praise, reinforcing good behavior and modeling appropriate behaviors.
